Instagram Update

It's that time of year again! It's time to say goodbye to 2018 and welcome in the new year. New year, new gaming resolutions… but first let’s review how I did on last year’s! (Spoiler: It wasn’t pretty.) --- #1) Post engaging/informative content on Instagram more than just sporadically. FAIL) I had a few good runs, but that whole weekly business just didn’t hold up. My summer schedule was pretty decent, but during the school year, I was just as bad as the year before. #2) Gradually increase my streaming schedule until I qualify for partner status on Twitch. FAIL) I really should have considered how much impact this would have on my family. I really can’t commit to this level of streaming. It just isn’t in the cards as long as I have a job that is so time-intensive. #3) Play more competitive Magic events. FAIL) Nope, nope, nope. Not only did I play fewer events, I sold about 95% of my collection. I kept two decks: one for commander and one for modern, but everything else is gone. Verdict: This is officially the first year that I’ve scored a 0/3. It’s not that I didn’t do any gaming this year… just that my priorities changed and the goals I set didn’t align with the way I was using my time. This year, I want to keep things a little simpler and be more realistic with my expectations. #1) Use my campaign material to fuel my Instagram posts 1/week. I’ve done this a little already with the Rogues Gallery series, but I’ve been working backwards, developing new NPCs for Instagram and then keeping them in mind for later use in my campaign. It’ll be much more efficient if I just use NPCs from the campaign in the Rogues Gallery. #2) Develop at least three homebrew D&D projects into publishable works. I’ve got plenty of these lying around half-finished… enough to use in my own campaign, but not polished enough to put out for the masses. How about you?
